The founder’s story

Then I looked in the mirror.

I grew up in a plastic surgeon’s house. Skincare was what people used before they came to see my father, and I paid attention to which ones worked. Most did not. The ones that did had a paper behind them, and my father could tell you which paper.

I spent years working in beauty anyway, mostly assuming skincare was for other people.

Then I looked in the mirror.

Some context. I came to beauty sideways. I traded currencies for five years, went to business school, and then built an insect repellent that took two years to formulate and five more to get registered with the EPA. My father is on that patent with me. The process teaches you two things: patience, and that a claim is only worth the study behind it.

Along the way I founded a haircare brand, spent six years inside a clinical beauty incubator watching how the big names actually get made, and read more dermatology papers than a person with clear skin should. I knew what worked. I knew what was theater. I just had not applied any of it to my own face.

Everything on this site is what you can do before you need my father. He reviews every claim before it ships. The notes arrive fast, free and unsoftened.

So I started making the products I actually wanted to use at home: proven ingredients, simple formulas, and none of the marketing fluff I knew I didn’t need.

They became my routine. Then my friends started asking for them too.

So I decided to bottle my existential crisis and sell it to other people.

Where it happens

Developed in our lab. Not on a mood board.

Every formula starts as a question and a pipette, and only earns a name once the receipts are in. The mood board came later, and it was mostly beige.

Our lab, our formulas, our money. No private equity, no venture capital. The money is in the bottle: the actives at the studied strengths, priced for what is in it.

The lab ferments its own actives in bioreactors, synthesizes its own peptides, and runs a skin biology bench that tests an ingredient before it earns a place in a bottle. When a number on this site carries an asterisk, that is where it came from. The published papers are kept separate, on the receipts page, on purpose.
